Scope of Application:
Polymeric plastic (PE) protective warning panels are divided into ordinary protective warning panels and detectable protective warning panels, which are widely used for warning protection of various directly buried gas pipelines, oil pipelines, urban water supply and drainage pipelines, power cables, and communication cables. It can provide necessary physical barriers and visual warnings for underground pipeline facilities, effectively reducing accidental manpower and mechanical damage. (Polyplastic pipe guards cannot eliminate all types of mechanical damage).
Skills Requirement:
1. Specification requirements for use thickness:
High-pressure pipelines use protective plates with a thickness greater than 12 mm, and medium and low-pressure pipelines use protective plates with a thickness greater than 3 mm.
2. Width requirements:
The protective plate should be larger than the diameter of the pipeline to be protected. The specifications of the protective plate should be selected according to the following requirements for municipal medium and low pressure pipelines: pipe diameter ≤ 160 mm, and the use width should be greater than 200 mm; the pipe diameter is greater than 160 mm, and the use width should be greater than 400 mm.
3. Appearance requirements:
The surface of the protective plate should be smooth and free of burrs, and the side of the protective plate printed with warning signs should be facing inside.
The markings on the surface of the protective board shall be marked along the length of the board, and the repeated interval of the markings shall not exceed 1m. The logo content should meet the following requirements:

Requirements for laying of protective panels:
1. The protective warning board should be laid flat and laid directly above the pipeline, with the side with warning signs facing up.
2. When laying a protective board with a thickness of 12 mm, each board is aligned at the connection hole position, and the connecting pin is pressed in. The laying cannot be disconnected. When laying a protective board with a thickness of less than 12mm, the length of the overlapping surface shall not be less than 500mm.
3. The protective plate should be laid above the pipe and the distance from the top of the pipe is 300~500mm. When the buried depth of the pipe is shallow, the distance between the protective warning plate and the pipe can be appropriately reduced.
4. Before laying the protective plate, the backfill should be fully compacted. It is strictly forbidden to directly backfill sharp objects such as rocks on the lower surface of the protective plate.
5. The diameter of the connecting pin of the protective warning board is 16mm.
6. All projects that use protective warning panels must use the "Quality Inspection and Acceptance Form" for random inspection, and the acceptance form must be entered into the completion data archive after passing the test.

3. Place the conical end of the coupling pin vertically in the hole of the protection plate, and press the coupling pin into the holes of the two protection plates with a wooden hammer (note that the two holes should not be misaligned, and excessive force should not be used to prevent damage to the coupling pin).

Precautions
The printed surface of the protective board should not be exposed to the sun for a long time. During construction, 200mm thick fine soil should be laid first and then other fillings should be backfilled. Sand and gravel should not be laid directly to avoid scratching the warning signs.
Safety incident case
PE Warning BoardAt around 15:05 on September 11, 2012, in the family courtyard of the Third Construction of Qiantangjiang Road, Urumqi, the natural gas flashed after an excavator digged the natural gas pipeline because the PE protective warning board was not installed on the upper layer of the natural gas pipeline. The driver's arm was burned, and the east side of an adjacent residential building was damaged to varying degrees. The picture shows the rescue scene of fire officers and soldiers.

On June 17, 2012, Beihu Road, Jingzhou City, because the upper layer of the natural gas pipeline was not paved with a PE protective warning panel, the operating excavator accidentally digs the natural gas pipeline. The accident caused more than 300 households in the surrounding communities to stop gas for 3 hours. Fire officers and soldiers Rush to the scene and spray water to dilute the natural gas leak.

In August 2010, six consecutive gas leakage accidents occurred in Nanjing within half a month, all due to the unpaved upper layer of natural gas pipelines and the construction of excavators with PE protective warning panels.
